Hello and welcome to Six Stringed Success!

Have you always wanted to learn guitar but never got around to picking it up?
Do you already know a few chords and scales but don't know where to go with them?
Are you already a master of the fretboard? A king of the strings? A shredder elder?

Have you always had in the back of your mind 'I should really get back into playing guitar'?

If you have answered yes to any of the above then you are in the right place!

My name is Max and I fall into the last category of my above questions. I played guitar for many years and became quite good at it. As the years went on my interest in it subsided somewhat to the point whereby I'd neglect my guitar for months at a time. As you can imagine I became very rusty (much like my strings) and all of those years I'd spent learning were almost completely wasted.

I decided enough was enough and I didn't want to waste a talent I'd spent so many years perfecting. So I grabbed some polish and a plectrum and began bringing a shine back to my guitar and blood flow to my fingers.

As I have always been self taught, I decided that this time I would seek advice on improving my finger dexterity. Rather than pay some bearded, classically trained pompous old fool lots of money to tell me that I have in fact been holding my guitar in the wrong position all these years and that my grip on the neck is not one of the official music standard recognised grips, I took it on myself.

I spent hours of trawling through different pages of the web and I have to say there is some really neat stuff out there! Some of the tips and tricks I've picked up have vastly improved my fascination of the fretboard and certainly re-stimulated my adoration of it. It then occurred to me, 'wouldn't it be great if all of this information was in one place?' Thus, the birth of Six Stringed Success.

The content of this website are all tips, tricks and methods that I personally have found incredibly useful. I have also implemented some of my own techniques for you. It is entirely up to you which methods you like and which work for you.

I hope there is something for everyone here, from beginner right the way through to expert (yes even experts can learn new things from time to time!).
